Igor Petrishenko emphasizes importance of creating festive mood for children on New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve it is important to create a festive mood for all children, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said as he paid a visit to the patients of the National Scientific and Practical Center for Children's Surgery as part of the New Year charity campaign Our Children on 29 December.

“During Our Children campaign we are doing our best to congratulate every child. The main attention is paid orphans and those who have to welcome the New Year in a hospital bed. We try to give them all our warmth, to create a festive mood. Children's dreams must come true. Today in the National Scientific and Practical Center of Children's Surgery we saw that the children are in a good mood and are recovering. We want to see children healthy, spend more time in the fresh air, playing games. Our doctors will continue to provide qualified medical care using advanced technologies,” said Igor Petrishenko.

Igor Petrishenko presented the little patients with gifts and congratulated them on New Year's holidays. The National Scientific and Practical Center for Children's Surgery received a certificate for equipment to improve its infrastructure. “We presented an air conditioner to make the reception room more comfortable, because all the children and their mothers pass through this department,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The Our Children charity project will be running in Belarus from 14 December 2021 till 14 January 2022. Every year, heads of ministries and other government agencies, local authorities, representatives of public associations visit children's care homes and family-type homes, foster families, families raising disabled children, correctional and rehabilitation facilities, hospitals. During the campaign, they wish children a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas, give gifts, help address their issues.
