Belarus Prime Minister awards outstanding Belarusians

The list of people entitled to Labour Merits Medals, Frantsisk Skorina Medals and the Gratitude of the President of the Republic of Belarus includes 50 names. Among them are various executives of industrial, construction and public organisations of Belarus, education, healthcare, and culture establishments, representatives of mass media, the environment inspection, certain state administration agencies. “You bear a great responsibility for effective operation of the labour collectives you are entrusted with. And we see that you successfully do the job,” Sergei Sidorsky told the awardees.

“With your hands you build the sovereign, stable and courageous Belarus. Vigorous economic development of the country, increasing welfare of our citizens, social protection of veterans and the elderly — all of it is worthily implemented thanks to labour and high professionalism of every one of you,” noted the Prime Minister.

Sergei Sidorsky extended special gratitude to employees of industrial enterprises, which constantly increase their output. Among the awardees are workers, fitters, turners, riggers, drivers, electricians, builders, and casters. A Labour Merits Medal has been bestowed upon MZOR Company Director General Viktor Butko, Aide to the Director General of Belarusian Autoworks Piotr Karpovich, Director of Brest Construction Materials Factory Vladimir Morozov, Director of Gomel Foundry Tsentrolit Mikhail Saikov and others.

Special gratitude has been bestowed upon employees of the fauna and flora protection inspection under the President of the Republic of Belarus.

Addressing culture workers, representatives of artistic intelligentsia, and professors, Sergei Sidorsky underscored: “You make a great contribution to the development of national art, spiritual and aesthetic education of our citizens, professional training of young Belarusians”. A Frantsisk Skorina Medal has been bestowed upon Oleg Neverkevich, Director of the Belaya Rus sanatorium of the Belarus Presidential Property Management Directorate as well as Anatoly Sabitov, Deputy Head of the Culture Office of Minsk City Hall, Aleksei Shut, Director, Artistic Director of the state institution Musical Choir Sanorus of the Minsk Oblast.

According to Sergei Sidorsky, the Belarusian women’s basketball team deserves praise. “It is pleasant that our girls have made it to the Olympics for the first time in the history of Belarusian sports and have taken the sixth position in a competitive struggle with renowned teams,” said the Belarusian head of government. Some sportsmen of the Belarusian basketball team have been presented a Gratitude of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

The Prime Minister underscored, professional skills of the awardees, high responsibility and the ability to organise effective work will contribute to further successful social, economic, cultural, and sports development of the country. “Your dedication to your jobs, sense of purpose, and a tangible personal contribution to the dynamic development of the Belarusian society deserve respect. The modern economy of Belarus reliably rests on many state programmes, which realisation primarily depends on each of us,” said Sergei Sidorsky.
