The key task for all the enterprises of the Belarusian state woodworking and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom, which have completed investment projects or are about to complete them, is to find new markets to sell their products. The statement was made by Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov after he was made familiar with the progress in implementing an investment project at the state-run enterprise Mozyrsky DOK on 30 January. The investment project envisages the production of insulating fiberboards. The Belarusian head of government was in Gomel Oblast on a working trip on 30 January.
“The insufficiently smooth system of sales is one of the main problems plaguing the manufacturing sector. It is possible to make good products but there are problems with selling them. Why? Because we don't know how to sell,” stressed the Prime Minister.
Andrei Kobyakov mentioned the high technical standards of the new manufacturing facility established by the Mozyr-based woodworking enterprise. The product the facility makes is unparalleled in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The product is a heat-insulating material with good design qualities. Apart from that, it is environmentally friendly and can be used to improve thermal insulation of children daycare centers, schools, and other places for children. “Wooden fiberboards cost slightly more than conventional thermal insulation, however, customers pay for the environmental value of the product. Let's hope that the enterprise will be able to find its target markets. Naturally we will control results of this work,” he said.
The Prime Minister was informed that a number of customers in the Russian Federation and the European Union had shown their interest in the insulating fiberboards. The first batches of merchandise have been shipped to Europe already.
The investment project has been implemented by the enterprise Mozyrsky DOK as part of the presidential decree on measures to develop the Belarusian woodworking industry. The investments totaled €74.9 million. Every year the enterprise will make over 5.3 million m2 of plates using the trademark Beltermo.
The head of government is also expected to visit OAO Mozyr Oil Refinery to get familiar with the day-to-day operation of the company and the progress in implementing retooling projects.
