The Belarusian Government has updated the Concept of energy security. Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin signed the corresponding resolution.
The concept of energy security is the main long-term policy document for the energy sector.
The new version takes into account significant economic, legal, and industry-specific changes in the country (the commissioning of the second unit of the Belarusian NPP, the updating of Belarus’ national security concept, the revision of the country’s fuel and energy consumption mix, and others) and also changes in the global energy market.
The document ensures systematicity in strategic planning and in forecasting the medium-term prospects in the fuel and energy complex. The goals and objectives have been formulated, and the threats, risks to energy security and the principles for ensuring it have been updated.
