Government approves national action plan for the Year of the Belarusian Woman

The Government has approved a national action plan to mark the Year of the Belarusian Woman in 2026. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin. The document was prepared pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1 of 1 January 2026 “On declaring 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman.”

The resolution and the national plan outline a number of initiatives designed to highlight the role and the contribution of women in society, to achieve measurable results in support for women and families, and to promote public discourse on this theme.

The national action plan outlines 61 events, encompassing media converge of the year’s theme, thematic events (including sporting and concert events, among others), as well as the legal regulation of support for women.

Key initiatives under the plan focus on building the brand of the Belarusian woman through media projects, such as a new women’s internet radio station and campaigns like “#BelarusianWomanOfThe21stCentury,” “#EverythingStartsWithFamily,” and “FemaleFaceOfBelarus.” The plan also seeks to highlight the role of Belarusian women on international platforms, acknowledge their contributions to family and peace, promote healthy living and enhance women’s health via preventive healthcare measures and sporting events. There are also plans to hold cultural and social events like dialogue platforms, exhibitions, and competitions, including “Woman of the Year”, “Family of the Year”, the family festival “Together”, the youth project “Girls’ Wreath of Peace”, as well as informational and educational projects like “Helping Hand,” “Point of Support,” and “Being a Mom Is Cool!”

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has been designated to coordinate the activities of government agencies and other organizations in implementing the national plan.
