Belarus invites Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia to set up joint ventures and offers its assistance in metro construction, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich told the media following negotiations with Acting Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast Denis Pasler.

“We have quite a large trade turnover with Sverdlovsk Oblast. The goal is to reach $1 billion. This task was set by the Head of state. That's what we're aiming for. Our cooperation is diverse: we supply farm machines, passenger, road construction and utility vehicles, and elevators. We have a joint venture producing hydraulic equipment in Pinsk. We have mapped out the plans for further cooperation. They include the development of documentation and subsequent production of the multifunctional 19-seat Osvey aircraft; projects to set up joint ventures here in Yekaterinburg. We are looking into a possibility of assembling trams and supplying the kits from Belkommunmash. We also offer our competencies in the design and construction of apartment houses and the metro,” Viktor Karankevich noted.

Denis Pasler, for his part, noted that relations between Sverdlovsk Oblast and Belarus go way back and have always been very productive and diverse covering economy, culture, education, and sport. According to him, a significant part of agricultural equipment on the fields of the region is of Belarusian make. Sverdlovsk Oblast is committed to furthering the intensive cooperation.

On 8 July Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich is scheduled to meet with Governor of Kaluga Oblast Vladislav Shapsha and Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov. “We have many areas of cooperation. These are supplies of Belarusian equipment, development of joint ventures. We are results-oriented. We are focused on new contracts and long-term mutually beneficial cooperation,” Viktor Karankevich said.

Belarus is running a national exposition at INNOPROM in Yekaterinburg these days. Viktor Karankevich noted that this is one of the most important and representative international expos, and Belarus has been its regular participant since 2012. “We are showcasing our largest enterprises, brands and products that have proven well not only in Belarus but also abroad. This is a good forum to show your new technologies, new technical solutions. Belarus is represented by MAZ, BKM Holding Company, Integral, Horizont and other major companies. Here you can see the scientific developments of our organizations, without which modern industry cannot develop. These technologies allow us to ensure further innovative progressive development of our manufacturing sector. Belarusian industrial products are in demand in Russia and other EAEU countries. INNOPROM is a great opportunity to exchange experience, certain competencies, and conclude contracts,” he said.

INNOPROM is an international industrial exhibition in Russia, held annually in Yekaterinburg since 2010. Over the years, the event has become a key event for Russian and international manufacturing industries.

Belarus has been participating in INNOPROM in Yekaterinburg since 2012. In 2023 it had in the honorary status of a partner country.

This year, INNOPROM in Yekaterinburg is a bridge to the upcoming event in Minsk.  INNOPROM Belarus  will be held in Minsk from 29 September to 1 October 2025.
